YUMMY TREAT CHEAT SHEET!

 
Between Halloween and your crazy after-school scene, fall feels stuffed with snacks. We found healthier ways to get the treat without the trick.

NUTS OVER CHOCOLATE

A king size pack of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups has over 400 cals, which is more than some fast-food burgers. A better nutty combo? A few almonds and a dark chocolate Hershey’s Kiss—healthy fats plus antioxidants and only 170 calories. So not spooky!

BAKE OFF

Frosted cupcakes may look adorable, but big ones have almost 800 calories. Small cupcakes have half that, but still pack almost 20 grams of fat. Skinny gingerbread men are a better bet, just 130 cals for four cookies.

CHEX IT OUT

A half bag of Chex Mix Trail Mix has over 500 calories (and trust us, the bags are tiny). Make a healthier (and smaller) version by mixing 1/2 cup whole wheat Chex with some raisins and peanuts. Less sugar and less additives and preservatives, too.

HOLE-Y SUGAR

A blueberry donut sounds better than the rest (it’s got fruit, so how can it be bad?), but they pack over 200 calories and 15 grams of fat. A sweet ’n’ fruity combo you can tote is a toasty banana sandwich. Take whole wheat toast, smear on a dab of honey and plop down banana slices. Only 150 cals and way more fiber plus potassium.

SO CHEESY

A snack size pack of Doritos Collisions dips in at 370 calories…with no nutritional value. Swap ’em for a string cheese (80 calories and plenty of calcium) and a few soy crisps if ya want something crunchy.

This is good, but I'm a picky eater and I don't like cheese or nuts (brother is highly allergic) or gingerbread men. Yikks! I need to start liking more food!!

if u let them sit (u eat a bunch and dont burn them off)-- yes. but they give u energy 2. just make sure u excercie regularly and you'll b F-I-N-E fine.

Help anyone??

I want to learn how to do a back hand spring but I have no money to sign up for tumbling classes (I do have a job, by the way) and all the gymnastic clubs are like... 45 minutes away. The YMCA by my house doesn't even have gymnastics. Any suggestions on what I could do to figure out my back hand spring? Even stretches would help. Thanks!

MOD and GIRLS! PLEASE HELP!!!!theres this boy at school. he is two or three years older than me, im 12. he stands by my locker and when i open it he goes through my stuff and throws it around, and hits me with my ruler and agravates me. i tell him to please stop and sometimes he does. when he does, he'll do something else. like today he wouldnt let me close my locker. he told me to leave and then he 'll close it, but i was afraid he wouldnt, and that he might steal my things. so i defended myself by stepping on his foot and slamimng my locker closed. im scared of what he will do next. i need help! please!

 

ignore him and pretend that the things he does, doesn't bother you. He is just trying to aggravate you. Smile L

I have such a bad sweet tooth it's getting really embarrassing!!! How can I try to resist myself? Once I eat one cookie I end up eating about FIVE OR SIX!!!! One night I ate a whole bowl of icecream AND five cookies!!!

Hey girl!

Carbs are the same thing as carbohydrates. There are good carbs and bad carbs. It is all very confusing. Ask a parent or a doctor to help you out on nutrition so you can be healthy.

What are some quick lunches that i could bring to school?

Try bringing PB&J sandwiches and a bunch or grapes, an apple or an orange.  If you can heat things up at school, leftovers or Cup-o-noodles is always a good option. -lauren
