GIRL TALK: How To Flirt...But Not Really

I REALLY want my crush to notice me but I don't want to make me seem as a flirt. I wanna talk to him but I’m afraid it will look like it’s obvious I like him to everyone around me. I’m sick of helping my friends with their crushes instead of my own. How can I be more confident with a friendly convo without implying that I like him? I just want him to notice me.

Hey, girlie. You def heard this a bunch of times before, but the answer to your problem is simple: BE YOURSELF! So you want your crush to look your way and notice you. You've gotta say something for him to notice. But to make sure nobody catches your lovey dovey tone of voice and sparkle in your eyes when you talk to him might be a tad bit hard to hide.

I totally say go for it and be shameless! Don't be afraid to ask whatever you want to know about him and say whatever you want to say to him. Honestly, being yourself will bring out your true colors, babe. He will DEF notice that and I totally bet he'd be down for a laid back girl versus a girl who tries to hide who she is and be someone else. Be you and things will go perfect!

If you want to talk to him, but not make it totally obvious that you like him, then I'd suggest to maybe (if you are in the same class as him) help him with something he doesn't understand and that way, you get to be confident when you talk to him and then if it goes right, you'll be talking more about the subject your helping him with- like what your hobbies are and stuff. Or if you have friends in common, both of you can hang out with them and then maybe get talking that way.

The way I got "in" with my crush was to hang around with some of the people he does - like, hang out with the same group of people. I found a new group of people I totally love hanging out with, got to know him more, he got to know me, and now, I'd say we're pretty close friends =]]

**MOD** I have a question... I've known my one guy friend for almost as long as I can remember. We've always been flirty, and I've crushed on him on and off before. Right now I've completely fallen for him, harder than I've fallen for him before, and I don't know what to do. A couple of weeks ago my friend asked him who he liked. He swears to everyone that brings it up that he's not messing with my head, and that it's not like that. I'm so confused. I don't know what to do. Does he like me? Does he not? the kinda of thing that makes your heart beat so hard that it doesn't feel healthy?
yeah, I've been there.
gone up to him and realized that I forgot how to speak English.

Sharon was right, (like always!) being yourself is what always has worked for me, but here's something that might help you keep the lovely feeling you've got on the DL.

1) Notice what his interest are, realize what you've got in common and then when you're casually hanging out with him, or passing him in the hall ask him if he watched heroes (or insert his favorite show in here, or whatever) and ask him what he thought of what happened to Claire.
but here's the catch on this: don't change your interests to be like his. that's bad because essentially that's changing yourself and well as you know that's bad too.
you're bound to have something in common, and if you don't maybe hes not right for you.

2)Casually ask him out! if he want it to be just friends he'll let you know! don't be afraid of rejection because you can never have a great accomplishment without taking a chance.
you're friends don't even have to know!
lets say you see him at the lockers, go up and say "hey (insert cute boys name here!) what are you up to this Friday night?"
go to a movie or the mall in a group if you're parents don't let you go out.

if you want to get to know him you have to know him and that means hanging out with him.
and that could just mean making friends and seeing where it goes from there.
and YOUR friends should support you if you do decide to tell them or if they start to notice!

and purplecrazed, I've been there, just be the best friend you can be to him! so youre there for him and he can notice what a wonderful girl you are.
however don't wait around for him because youre too good to wallow!
seek out other boys while you make a new friend!

what do you have to loose?
you'll end up with a new friend or your lovely crush crushing back eventually! sound like a win win!

**MOD** I have a problem... and i need someone to talk to so here it goes...i like this boy, but i like him A LOT . most of my other crushes i really only liked basically for thier looks, shallow i know,. but this guy, lets call him Bob. so i like pretty much everything about bob, and not in a creepy way, its just hes never done anything that bugs me.so i like bob and then every body finds out,INCLUDING HIM!! but then one of bobs friends said bob likes me and wants to ask me out, but is afraid ill reject him, so i said i wouldnt reject him. but he never asked me out, apparantly its cuz he can never get me alone. well, my best friend heard people talking and said that he was either gonna call me, or ask me after fall intersession, which im in right now. but today, one of my guy friends emailed me and said that a while ago this girl who hangs out with bob, asked bob who he liked and then said, wait you like (my name here ) , right? and then apparently he said not any more. i dont know if my friend heard this from someone or saw it himself, i already asked and am waiting for a reply, but should i try to find out if its true, or should i just try to forget it ? i really dont want to believe it, and have no reason to, because the girl bob hangs out with (not alone, with friends) is a complete and a flirt, and once she found out i liked him, she started to flirt w/ him.she is not a nice person. sorry i wrote so much, but it feels better to tell someone thnks !!!

why do u want to go to dc so badly? i live there (well, VA but still) and its super cool and fun! if u come...go to the newseum and the international spy museum. i've been to the spy museum like 5 times and it's still awesome! there's so much to see and do in dc its like amazing! omg we got a tour of da white house during christmas and we got to see the tree and it was totally awesome! i hope u get to com here soon!
