yeah, my dad used to be really strict, and i would run and start crying because it seemed liked he hated me or something, but the main point is: he has never been a teenage girl! he has no idea what i was thinking, or how much it had meant to me.

Hey mod: I've been cutting my left wrist and in PE i took off the sweatband i usually put over it for a couple seconds and someone saw. Now the whole school knows and people are making fun of me, calling me mean names and teasing me relentlessly. It's really hurtful and i cried today because of it, but mostly because i was scared that the counselors would hear about it, call my mom, and tell her about the cutting. No one knows how depressed i usually am because i put on a happy face most of the time. I really don't like any of the counselors at my school, and i can't talk to my friends about it because they don't understand me. I most definitely can't talk to anyone in my family about it. I started last week, when my crush told all my friends he hated me and told them a bunch of mean stuff. Today he heard about my cuts and said if i was going to cut, i might as well just kill myself, which would be better. i don't want to, and i did a good job today of only cutting once today. Besides hotlines, are there any other ways i can talk to someone about this so i can stop?

Hey pucca_luvr I'm sorry about what happened to you and I can totally relate to the way you feel. I've been struggling with the same kind of depressed stuff and I'm glad that you're working to not cut as much even under the stress of what's going on. Unfortunately, I can't give you advice as to other places to go to talk about it because that's one of the things that I'm trying to figure out myself, but I'm sure there are lots of girls on here who would love to talk to you and try to help you. I wish I could talk to you personally about it, but I would say generally the best thing to do would be to tell a best/good friend or your mother or someone else what's going on with you so that they can help. Trust me, it's really helping me. If you don't feel comfortable telling them everything about what's going on with you, you could always just tell them about some of it, like how sad you are, and go from there. I'm sorry your crush said the things he did, but please please please just try to ignore it and continue cutting as little as possible. I know it's hard to stay strong, but remember that you are absolutely not alone. <3

hey pucca_luver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! about five months ago i was really depressed. i had learned too much about Kurt Cobain and listened to way too much Nirvana.i cut myself a few times and i tried several suicidal attacks...it was the worst feeling ever.then,my dog died.which made things even worse,i wouldn't eat for like three days and for some reason,one day,i felt that weight be lifted of f my heart.now,i'm luckily about to be twelve and i'm not that mad.i still keep a diary,but when i look at the entries from when i was depressed i start to cry.i felt just like you;didn't wanna see any counselors,tell anyone,or do anything about it...so thing before you do anything else,and just try to get through it,cuz it will be OK.

I just had a school dance the other night. it was awesome until about 2 hours into it. then my bf dumped me. i wanted to cry, but to help me keep back tears i drank water. we havn't talked since. i didn't even dance the last snowball. the last switch i danced with my other guy friend though. PEOPLE, BE PREPARED FOR STUFF TO HAPPEN AT DANCES!!! oh, the song the most people danced to was Cotton Eyed Joe. nobody even requested it! lol And they played my faveorite song! Burnin up by the Jonas Brothers!!! Me and all my Bffs were singin irt. it was awesome!

***MOD*** i know that in today's poll (what your favorite sport to play) you couldn't put ALL the sports, but i was disappointed to see that swimming and lacrosse weren't on there. a lot of girls swim and play lacrosee, and i don't consider them a sport that the minority plays. next time, consider putting swimming and lacrosse in there so ALL of us can vote. thanks.

Oh my god, I feel so bad for you. But even thought it's not my job, allow me to give you some advice. Just be yourself. Write him an secret letter, pretending it isn't you, but describe your problems from another person's perspective. It could be your mom, just someone who knows what's going on. He might actually be sweeter to you. I would know. I used to have this really strict mom, who caused me a lot of pains and hateful thoughts toward her. So I wrote the secret letter. When it worked, I smiled at my gods and whispered for every night for 9 days, thanks. Oh, to the moderators: hey!

yeah, my dad was that way, uber strict, but I knew he loved me and just wanted me to have a better future, he died a year and a half ago, and I somewhat appreciate how strict he was because he did infact prepare me for the real world. He loves you and he does want you to be ready, but he may not realize that you're going up in a totally different world than him!
