Glitz, Glamour and Girl Fights

This week’s episode has me somewhat perplexed. The question of the week is should we really feel sorry for Blair Waldorf? Her jealousy, envy and childish fight for the spotlight always gets her in trouble with mommy dearest. She's starting to come off as pathetic. I can understand her being a little bit green eyed over Serena. The girl can do no wrong, has flawless features and the most to-die-for hair I’ve ever seen. But, a little overboard much? She nearly ruins her mom’s fashion show in order to satisfy her need for revenge. I want to hear your opinions girls! I’m team Serena on this one. She should be able to be herself without worrying about her BFF trying to knock her down the social ladder because of it.

The Humphrey siblings are caught up in their own drama as well. Dan seems to be moving on in life post Serena by burying himself in work. However, he gets burned again by one of the social elite. Who does Dan let into his personal life? None other than Chuck Bass. It wasn’t even an evil ploy by Chuck, Dan invited himself along! All for the sake of a prospective Pulitzer Prize winning career. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it to mess with that guy, but that’s just me. I do applaud him for taking a walk on the wild side, even if it did land him in jail. He better steer clear of Chuck for, oh, the rest of his life. He didn’t seem to happy when he found out Dan was digging for deets about his personal life to base his story around.

Jenny’s dad is ready to call out the guards on his darling daughter. Turns out truancy is the name of her game. Girl has been blowing off school to become a full-fledged fashion designer. She definitely rocked it and is moving up as a fast favorite of Eleanor. Not even Blair’s scheming could diminish her effort and ingenuity. Way to go girl. However, I have to disagree with her decision to drop out of school. That was not the smartest thing to do, to say the least. I hope her pops Rufus makes sure his daughter is on the right path!

Gossip Girl closes this week with a cryptic message, “Waiting for a star to fall.” Oh Serena. Better be careful! Sooner or later Blair is gonna have a major meltdown and come after her in a full on attack. Will these two ever just be friends again? Tune in next week!

Much Love,
Drea

I'm split on this one. On one hand, I can relate to Blair by having been outshined unexpectedly by a friend and almost falling to pieces over it. But on the other hand, I totally understand Serena's decision to not hold herself back.

We'll I'm not sure.I think Jenny just following what shes is in love and believes in,but hows she going to get any eductation? As for Blair, not really.Serena really did try to help Blair and be her friend, but Serena should be tired of it.After all, Blair the one spreading the drama, really.Chuck and Dan,you got me on that one.........Dan was being kinda of a jerk hanging with Chuck for his so called cureer. At least at the end he reliazed that.Just my opinionSmile

OMG what a catty episode that was! in my opinion, Blair is just not putting the effort into her scheming like she used to. but on the other hand, trying to sabotage her mom's fashion show and blame Jenny was a really bad move- that would only make her Blair's family look bad! and, um, wouldn't that be kinda opposite of what she wants??? DUH! Ok so Serena in this episode had a good point. Blair can be supremely childish on, well, more than ONE occasion. But this time it was all a huge temper tantrum! (BTW- did you guys see the way she totally flipped on Dorota, her maid? Yikes! tho it was funny to watch) Serena should be more willing to get what she wants, and Blair should just learn to deal. I mean, instead of scheming like revenge, scheme to make yourself better, but not by putting others down! of course, that would be majorly out of character. Anyways.
Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. So torn. It was a majorly stupid mistake to ditch school for Fashion week- even tho it is THE Fashion Week. Her dad should be more strict, or else jenny could really get into a crazy sitch. And who would bail her out? I mean, it was only by chance that everyone j'adored her bright green dress for the finale, but

I am totally team Serena on this one too! I mean she shouldn't have to downplay her "sparkly-ness" just to make Blair feel better about herself! I hope Chuch doesn't do anything extreme to Dan and i hope that Dan doesn't publish the story.

i can reason with Bliar, but almost-ruining her mom's fashion show? AND trying to pin it on Jenny?! way to be the other b-word, Blair. i thought it was nice that Dan and Serena are moving on, though i loved them as a couple!! i agree that it wasn't in Dan's best interest to hang with Chuck. Though i'm glad he decided not to use the details about Chuck and his mom [MG, i almost cried! and his dad isn't there for him either, so how Chuck acts is sort of understandable] in his story. While i loved how Jenny is commited, i have to side with Rufus on her schooling. she isn't old enough to be out of school as an intern. she should at least finish high school, you know? Serena shouldn't have to hide her own brightness and talent just because Blair is having a bad day. it seems like a one-sided relationship with those two.

and where was Nate and Vanessa?

CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEKK!!!

_savvygirl_15 on 10/1/2008 5:35:01 PM

i felt bad for blair!!! serena was kinda rude but i could see where serena was coming from. i sill think she is kinda full of herself thoo.
Dan and Chuck were so funny, they need to be BFFs! Smile

mrsjonas<3 on 10/1/2008 5:48:26 PM

Chuck is amazing...what was the REAL story with his mom???

haha charles trout hahahahahahaha

bellabooluvsyou on 10/2/2008 3:53:30 PM

okay...
first- im team serena b/c blair went real overboard! when she gave serena the dress and said all that nice stuff, i was like you go blair! but then BAM!!! she had something up her sleeve! i was like omg! and blair was also mean to jenny! jenny did NOT deserve that at all!

second- idk.... i don't think chuck should have gone that far as to be wild! but i do say props to dan, for as yous said, walking on the wild side

third- im happy that she is doing really good in the fashion industry, but, again like you said, she should not have dropped out of school. she should have worked something out. but i don't think it was right for her dad to say she couldn't go to the fashion show. he should have at least said she could go and then start the punishment when she got back.

fourth- i think serena should find another bff. b/c blair is pretty catty.

anyone else agree with me???
Smile

emily96 on 10/7/2008 9:14:15 PM

I complete agree with you,emily96!

perfect pink rice 2 on 10/10/2008 11:50:54 PM

Well for that episode i really was a team Serena on that but I had to give lair props for standing up for Jenny against her mom.l But on last night's episode (10-14-08) I am really going over to Blair. Cause Serena had no right to go to Yale and to out shine Blair. That was her college and her dream not serens. Granted Blair went way overboard with th3 whole pete thing but Serena had it coming.Oh and how they broke up thier friendship but then made up was rediculous cause Serena was all yay and blair was all oh man and nothing good can come from that. Especially when serena got that call about early admittence. Oh and the nate and Chuck and dan tghing was so wierd. Waht are Nate and Dann best buddies now or something.
