“Scars will never go away, but their appearance can be improved dramatically. The younger you are, the more time a scar has to diminish and disappear,” says Dr. James Spencer, a dermatologist at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. Doctors can use a laser to shrink the scar tissue. “You can even move the scar to a more unnoticeable place—good for facial scars. With raised or indented scars, smoothing procedures even out the surface of the skin.” As for the wonders of vitamin E? “It does nothing,” says Dr. Spencer.

MOD I have a huge pimple on my nose! It was just a black head, but then my mom tried to squeeze it and it got HUGE, red and hard. It's been here for a week and it only got a little better! How do I get rid of it, and will it be gone by Saturday?

It will just be the same when you hang out with guys at school and stuff. I would just avoid the gossip and girly type things, because guys usually get a bit freaked out when stuff like that happens. It will be a lot of fun! Just be yourself and enjoy it girl!

MOD~ I have had acne on my face, shoulders, back, and chest for atleast two years. It is so anyoning because it is really all over. I have tried natural stuff and all these other products. I don't over do it, but i really need to get rid of it. It has started to look a little better, but not much. PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPlease help!

Dude, once my brother bit me on my arm... and now there is a huge teeth outline on my upperarm. Everyone that sees my arm can see it. Ugh... sometimes I just feel like KILLING him. His teeth are his weapon of choice, and he's THIRTEEN.

MOD, i have a scar from my stitches when i was like 5, but its right on my forehead! so its definetely noticable. same thing goes for it, or what?
It'll fade in time. But try using something like Mederma to help it fade sooner.

1. If he always looks at you afterwards, it's very possible he's showing off for you.
2. He was definitely trying to help you and probably loved that you were sharing an interest with him.
It definitely sounds like he likes you! Not sure about the kissing thing, because I watch people's lips when they talk just to help me make sure I understand what they're saying, not cause I want to kiss them! lol

Mention it to your doctor at your next visit. They're not experts on skin like a dermatologist, but they might be able to help you a little anyway. Make sure you're eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water, and washing your face in the morning and at night (and don't forget to moisturize with an oil-free face lotion!)

**MOD** My mom told me it's okay to leave tampons in for over eight hours, as long as it's not too long. Like I have a really light period, so on my heaviest days, I'll use a regular absorbancy tampon. Most days I use light tampons. She said it's okay if I accidentally leave it in for 9 hours or something, or if I want to sleep with one in, as long as I don't sleep for like 14 hours. Is she right

MOD!!! (: I have acne. I have tried stuff like pro-active, little pads with alcohol on them, and almost everything under the sun! and its not just once i try it for at least a month. i've seen a dermatologist and they put me on pills.. its made little progress but not much. i feel really un-confident with it when all of my friends have less then or none compared to me. I need something that works! have you heard of anything else? like (ex. lemon juice) - that doesn't work (i just said that) but i mean like not a medicine. I need something! i'm starting high school in the fall and would like to get rid of it! PLEASE HELP! thanks!

i have 3 scars: 1 on my ankle (fell off of a mini 4-wheeler, 3rd degree burn on ankle) the 2nd on my thigh(opened a camper door while standing on a tailgating chair{u know, the cloth 1s?} and the corner of the door cut my thigh *REALLY* deep! OUCH! didnt bleed much though!) and the last (if it is the last) on my 2nd toe, (idk where i got it! haha)

Try to hold a hot compress on it (run a rag under hot water). That will help with the redness and swelling eventually. Make sure you keep it clean and try not to mess with it too much. Doubt it'll be completely gone by Saturday, but hopefully it'll be better!

It sounds like you have a great summer girl! Hanging out with friends and going swimmin sounds like fun to me, you could also get involved in a summer sport or ride a bike with your family. Shaving nicks and ingrown hairs heal with time, I just recommend shaving around them for a bit till they are better. And as far as your ex, he might start flirting with you again, and wanting to hang out with you. Hope that helps!

MOD!! Please help me!! Okay, my birthday is the 25th of May...So, next Sunday; YAY!! But, my mom scheduled my little sister's b-day party on that day. It's from 3-5. That same day, one of my BFFs is having her 8th grade graduation party form 1-5 and I realllllly want to go!! I don't want to go and stay with a bunch of kindergarten kids.... It is my birthday!! Besides, I have three other brothers, my parents, probably some people at the place to help out with the kids and possibly some relatives!! I don't see why she needs my help soooo bad if there is at least 5 people watching 14 kids!!! And I don't even know that all of the kids are coming b/c it it memorial day weekend!! Do you know what I can do/say to help my case??!!?? I really want to go to my friends party!!

heyy 4 all of yall who r askin questions about acne, use the wave by neutrogena. if u havent heard of it, its like this vibrating thing that clenses ur skin. it works really well and i used to have acne all the time it wuz nasty. it really works as long as u use it every morning and night! one thing is it doesnt really help blackheads that much, but it will prevent any acne! also, its only like 13 dollers. hope that helps!

*MOD* My mom is very controlling and manipulative about my future. She says I'm blowing things out of proportion, but I've thought about it, and I'm really not. She is obsessed with my grades; she gets every single score I get e-mailed to her, yet I never hear, "Oh, nice job on that 100-point Spanish test you aced!" I get, "You got an 8 out of 10 on an English assignment? This is unacceptable." This year, (as a freshman) I attempted Honors Geometry. It was too hard for me because I was shaky in Algebra, so I decided to switch back to Alg. II, and I've decided that Regular Geometry would be a better option because it's slower-paced and I would have time to grasp the concepts. When I told my mom my decision, she started yelling at me. Not talking sharply: YELLING. She was telling me how I need to keep my options open and how I'm not going to succeed because I won't get into a good college. She wants me to go to HARVARD or an IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL. She's organizing volunteer things I don't want to do so I can put them on my college application. She doesn't take 'no' for an answer, and she doesn't listen to me when I try to talk to her; I've tried every strategy I can think of! I can't wait to get out of my house. How do I deal with this or find a way out sooner?

You have to talk to your mom and tell her how you are feeling. YOu still have a few years until college and you need to fix things with your mom. It sounds like you are an excellent student and are going to get into a great school later on. Tell your mom that grades and school are not everything in life, and how unhappy she is making you.

Im sure he is not mad, in fact im sure he is happy and relieved to know that you like him. Maybe now that he knows how you feel, he will tell you he also likes you because he does not have to worry about being rejected.

OMG i have the ugliest scar on my elbow from when my friend tripped me while we were running it's all raised and not smooth and a gross red color ugh it is such a pain to deal with cause to top it all off is itches thankfully i have an appointment with the dermatologist soon :-D

i have this HUGE scar on my thigh. its from when i burnt myself once on an oven rack. but its annoying. also i have a big one on my knee from when i was in PE a couple of months ago and, being the clutz i am, tripped off the curb while running. its humongous. and i have one on my ankle from when i got burnt from my dirt bike. and one on my eye from when i got hit in the eye with a wooden swing thingy at my g-mas house. wow......i never rele noticed how much i get hurt. ouch. lol.
