TV dads we wanna have

A holiday like Father’s Day reminds us there are so many different kinds of families out there. Girls today aren’t just raised in one kind of household and how cool is it that so many different families are represented on some of our fave TV shows?

This Father’s Day treat your dad, dads, stepfather, grandpa, uncle, legal guardian, whoever else plays the “dad” part or, if you don’t have a father figure, your mama (Hey, why just give her one day?) to something super special. We’re thinking how we would treat these top TV dads, too.

Burt Hummel
We love, love, LOVE Papa Hummel on Glee! Whether he is fighting for his son Kurt’s safety, serving as a father figure to Finn, or being all around amazing, Burt shines as a dad.

Spencer Shay
So, Spencer (iCarly) is actually a big bro, but he is Carly’s legal guardian and therefore can be seen as someone to celebrate on Father’s Day. Want to get creative? Why not make Dad a kooky sculpture, using Spencer as inspiration?

Phil Dunphy, Jay Pritchett, Cameron Tucker and Mitchell Pritchett
See what we mean about representing all sorts of families? The super funny Modern Family showcases a traditional family (mom, dad and kids), a multicultural family, and gay parents with an adopted daughter. Despite the range of dad awesomeness on this show, they all manage to be there (often embarrassingly) for their kids.

Colonel Fields
While he is the reason why one of the Pretty Little Liars is moving to Texas, Emily’s dad really tries to accept his daughter’s sexuality and always makes sure she knows she will always be his little girl. Aww!

Jerry Russo
Alex, Justin and Max’s dad on Wizards of Waverly Place isn’t just that, but also their magic tutor. Plus, he gave up his magic so he could marry their mom. Hey, if he hadn’t, the Russo kids wouldn’t exist. Think about it…

Which TV dad most resembles your own? Blog about it, babes.
