You have to see this: Starbucks launches original video series

Lately Starbucks has proven they're much more than just a cup of coffee (like when they helped these shelter pups!) and their latest project doesn't disappoint. Earlier this week, the company debuted its first orginal video series, "Upstanders". The 10-episode collection showcases "ordinary people doing extraordinary things to create positive change in their communities."

One of our fave episodes features Destiny Watford, a young Baltimore woman who, as a seventeen-year-old high school student spearheaded a campaign to save her neighborhood from an incinerator that threatened to harm both the environment and the residents' quality of life. Calling on her peers, she formed the Free Your Voice group who protested the state-funded project, overcame what seemed to be an impossible challenge and successfully kept her community safe and clean.

Destiny's story, just like the other nine that are currently featured on the series, is a refreshing reminder that any change, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in the lives of those around us. Every voice matters, and each of us has the power to stand up and fight for the causes we believe in. Starbucks hopes "Upstanders" will inspire us all to be better citizens.
