Your fam's ultimate fall bucket list

The first day of fall is next week, and we couldn't be more excited. Bring on sweater weather, bonfires and Friday night football games. Oh, and family bonding. Because what better way to hang out with your sibs and parents than hitting the pumpkin patch or making caramel apples? Here are a few fab fall festivities for you and your fam to do this season:

1. Pick apples. Then go home and whip up some homemade apple sauce or apple butter.

2. Check out a local fall festival while you sip on hot cocoa.

3. Take a scenic drive. Better yet, swap your wheels for boots and go for a group hike.

4. Go to a football game, whether it's your local high school or your city's pro team. Don't forget tailgating is half the fun.

5. Venture through a corn maze. Try not to get lost! You can even split up to do kids vs. parents to see who can get to the finish fastest.

6. Ask your mom to teach you how to bake a pie or her famous pumpkin bread.

7. Jump in a pile of leaves. Remember how much fun it was when you were a kid? The best part is your mom will be happy the yard is getting raked too. Win-win.

8. Have a backyard camping night, complete with a bonfire and s'mores.

9. Take a family photo to use for your Christmas card this year.

10. Brave a haunted house or hayride. So much fun for both you and your younger sibs.

11. Make your Halloween costumes together. Sure, you could buy one but a fam DIY sesh is such a great bonding opp.

12. Decorate the house for fall with everything orange, cranberry and yellow.

13. Go to an amusement park. They'll be closed in the winter so get one last hoorah in!

14. Volunteer at the local food bank to help families in need around Thanksgiving time.

15. Carve pumpkins. Most creative design wins a prize!
