LIFE

Dear Carol

I just moved and go to a new school with super snobs!

I just moved to a school I always made fun of because I thought the kids were all snobs. My mom wants me to make new friends, but I want my old friends! I hate change, and I miss my old house and neighborhood.

—Moving Moper

Dear Moper,

Change is hard but is often for the best. You made friends in your old neighborhood, and you’ll make friends again. Be warm and open, and chances are your new classmates will do the same. Is there another new kid in class? Find out. And sign up for chorus or newspaper or band. Don’t tell stories about how your old school was way cooler or how you used to make fun of this school. As for keeping old friends, you can! Phone, write, e-mail and plan visits.
