Your Bod

Shy because of your thighs? We have the solution (and it costs nothing)

Help! I have big thighs and I'm embarrassed about it. I can't wear anything short or else I'm self-conscious the whole day, and trust me, that's not good.

I lie to my friends and tell them that I'm skinnier than I am. I have a friend that's my height and she's really skinny, but she's OLDER than me!

Hey girlie, you're not the only one who's totally obsessed with her bod! Remember, at this age, your body is going through so many changes, and sometimes it takes a little bit of time to fall into your look. I'm sure you're stunning and perfect just the way you are, but here are some tips to make you feel even better:

Stop stressin'

I know it is SO hard to not try to constantly compare yourself with your friends and other people. Hey, I even have trouble. Sometimes I measure myself up against those stick figures I see on the covers of magazines, in the movies and on TV...until I realize that those peeps are totally NOT what us normal gals look like. What you have to realize is that no one is exactly identical when it comes to their bodies. Your friend may be skinnier, but she may not have your stunning curves! What is most important is that you're happy and healthy. Are you eating properly and exercising regularly? If so, than it sounds like you're on the right track. Take a deep breath and relax, girl. It's not healthy to stress about your appearance.

Inner beauty is what counts!

So, take these tips to mind but don't worry so much. I KNOW you're a great, smart, beautiful chica just the way you are. Focus on the stuff on the inside that makes you sparkle...like those great grades you're getting in school, what an amazing writer you are, how much you and your BFF laugh when you're together, and how your crush makes you feel when he smiles at you in the hall. Be happy!
