5 underwear mistakes you might be making

You probably don’t put a lot of thought into it when you put them on in the morning, but your underwear deserves more credit. After all, they're what protects your lady parts so it’s super important to fix any bad habits and keep it healthy down there. Check out these common mistakes everyone makes and how you can avoid them.

Going commando to bed is *actually* a good thing.
Most people think going commando is gross, but not wearing underwear to bed actually allows those lower regions to breathe. Otherwise, heat gets trapped and bacteria can grow.

Those fancy lace pairs are not your friend.
We all love those super cute lace undies, but it turns out they aren’t really helping. The rough material can be hard on our skin and can cause irritation. So save those fancy pairs for special occasions and opt for a breathable fabric like cotton.

Please, stop swearing by thongs.
Wearing thongs might be the best way to avoid VPL, but over time they can wreak havoc on your vaginal health. Not only do they allow for less coverage, they can cause irritation and infections.

Say goodbye to scented detergent.
The smell of fresh laundry is great and all but scented detergents can have more chemicals in them and commonly cause rashes or skin irritation. If you are experiencing anything like this, switching to a non-scented detergent might be an easy fix.

Change it up post workout.
Make sure you always have a pair of fresh undies in your gym bag. Swapping that sweaty pair for clean one’s post workout can be extremely important. Moist, warm areas can be a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi so change them out as soon as you are done your workout.
