Every way to *naturally* clear up your skin

It can be frustrating when you don't feel comfortable in your own skin, espeically with so many people hopping onto the no makeup trend. If you're tired of staring at the endless stream of facewashes and pimple creams lined up in your bathroom, maybe it's time you try these 10 simple and natural remedies for clear, radiating skin.

1. Drink lots of water.
Staying hydrated is essential to maintaining glowing, supple skin. If you’re tired of the taste of plain old water, go for a cup of green tea, which contains catechins that help fight acne-causing bacteria.

2. Eat more berries.
They’re small but mighty. These little treats are packed with vitamin C, which both boosts collagen production and protects your cells from damage. Moreover, berries are low in sugar, so they won’t lead to pesky, premature wrinkles.

3. Try apple cider vinegar.
This natural astringent will help absorb oil, restore the pH levels in your skin and can even combat sun damage. Dilute with water and swipe across your face with a cotton round, or use sparingly on small spots and pimple to reduce their appearance overnight.

4. Exercise daily.
When done on a regular basis, physical activity increases blood circulation which can flush out unwanted, pore-clogging toxins. Additionally, the endorphins you release while exercising help lower cortisol (that’s the fancy term for the “stress hormone”) levels, which can lead to clearer skin.

5. Ice, ice baby.
Gently rub your face with ice to soothe red, irritated patches. Implementing this refreshing step into your morning routine will instantly transform your skin’s appearance.

6. Reduce your dairy intake.
When the hormones in milk products seep into your bloodstream, they can cause acne to grow and spread, while simultaneously inflaming your skin. Dairy also makes you produce more oil, which can clog pores and lead to breakouts.

7. Sleep!
Your body needs time to rest and replenish, and your skin is no exception. Make sure that you’re getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night to ensure that your cells have enough time to repair (they don’t call it “beauty rest” for nothing!).

8. Use tea tree oil.
This essential oil is a true miracle worker. It contains both antibacterial and antifungal compounds that are sure to reduce swelling of your skin. Use a tiny drop of this product (100 percent pure tea tree oil works best) to dry out blemishes, unblock clogged pores, lighten acne scars and sun damage and restore your skin’s natural oil balance.

9. Don't forget the mint.
Mint leaves contain salicylic acid, a natural exfoliant that helps treat acne. Instead of buying a face scrub filled with harsh chemicals, try crushing some mint into water and apply the paste directly to your face.

10. Eat more omega-3 fatty acids.
Salmon, walnuts, chia seeds and spinach are just some of the many foods that a rich in this vital nutrient that is known to help strengthen your skin’s outermost layer and prevent moisture loss.
