Your Bod

What's with the waterworks? Is crying during your period normal?

Is it true you cry a lot before and during your period?

Lots of gals have mood swings where they feel sad, snappy or upset before their period. PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) and mood swings are a part of the whole period process. Think about it, your hormones are all going crazy!

However, studies showed recently that PMS is not untreatable. According to Susan Thys-Jacobs, M.D., an endocrinologist and researcher and Scientific Advisor for PremCal, "PMS is not a disease but an easily treatable chemical imbalance and nutritional deficiency. For most women, PMS can be appropriately managed by correcting the underlying dietary deficiency."

So if you are upset and want to cry, you can def still use the excuse that you’re on your period, but make sure you don’t try to find excuses to cry because you think that’s what your period makes you do! It’s partly mental, and it all differs from person to person! Instead, spend time exercising and eating great, well-rounded meals to make your body feel it’s best on the cycle.
