5 Things a Girl Needs to Turn her Living Room into a Gym

Don’t wanna spend tonsa cash on a on fancy gym membership? No need, girl. GL’s bringing the gym to you. Here are our five fave pieces that’ll turn your living room into a fab fitness center.  No excuses now!
 
Old-School Jump Rope
Thought skippin’ rope was just fun and games? Think again. You’ll toast up to 750 calories an hour (if you really get hopping). We like to jump in between weights and abs for added cardio. Just be sure you’ve moved Mom’s vases before you start, ok?
Towel or Throw Blanket
You don’t need to splurge on a yoga mat to have a place to stretch out. Stack two towels (or a doubled-up blanket) on the ground and you’ve got a soft spot to work on rock hard abs or practice your downward-facing dogs.

Workout DVDs or fitness books from the library, exercises from old issues of GL or YouTube fitness vids

Check out a variety of workouts that'll work all different areas of your bod. Make sure you get a fast pumpin', calorie burnin', cardio blast that'll have you rockin' out as you sculpt you body into shape. Check out all kinds diff stuff until you find your new fave. Blog about which ones you heart, so the other G-Life girls can know to check ‘em out.

Stability Ball
Time to get on the ball. A stability ball gives your abs an added challenge during crunches. Having the how-to DVD will help you get the most outta your workout. Bonus: Swap your desk chair with a ball to work your core while you’re doing homework.
 
DIY Hand Weights
Sure, water bottles might be bad for the environment, but before you recycle the last few on the planet, fill ’em with water. Use them to add weight to your squats, hold one or two while you’re doing crunches and, of course, use them to make your arms super-sleek.
