3 stellar workouts to put on your must-try list

Tired of the endless array of crunches and bicep curls? Ditch the usual sweat sesh! We’re digging these alternative options that give your bod a major workout while being a total blast—yes, really. Use these to mix up your routine every once in a while, but be careful. They just might become your new go-tos!

Rock wall climbing

Even though your legs propel you up the wall, that doesn’t mean your arms aren’t getting a workout, too. You’ll feel this one all over—in your biceps and shoulders, your thighs and calves, your bum and transverse abdominals. Grab a bud who can help belay (or race ya to the top), pop on a helmet and harness and get to it, girl.

Paddle boarding

If you have a warm-weather, water-bound vacation coming up this year—or are lucky enough to live in a location that offers water sport options—paddle boarding is our latest obsession. You plus a surfboard and a paddle equals an afternoon of cruising around rivers, creeks and lakes, taking in the sights and scoring a seriously toned body. As little ripples head your way, the paddle board will act more like a balance board, forcing you to use all your muscles to stay afloat.

CrossFit (for kids)

CrossFit has gotten a lot of flak over the years because the program can push people too fast and hard. But we’re digging the kids programs at CrossFit Kids. Designed for kids and teens ages 3-18, CrossFit Kids is designed to get you moving and requires almost no equipment or prior experience. Adults are getting addicted to the fast, fun workout, and so can you—check out their website to find a class in your area or just some exercise you can try on your own. The great thing about this subset of CrossFit is that it doesn’t include any weights, so you won’t be stressing your body. Yesss!

What are you dying to try this year? Tell us in the comments!
