Power up with this protein bar recipe

Protein pancakes, "proats", protein shakes...the list goes on and on. We've been seeing protein-packed *everything* on our Insta feeds, and with good reason. It's an important macronutrient that fuels both your bod and your brain, and absolutely necessary to being your best self. But sometimes the protein bars that you buy at the store have a bit too much added sugar or artificial sweeteners or other not-so-great chemicals. Here's a recipe to make your own, perfect for a quick and easy snack after class or before volleyball practice.

Ingredients:

4 scoops of protein powder
10 dates
2 cups oats, crushed into flour
1 cup salted nuts (any kind!)
2 Tbsp chia seeds
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 1/4 cup peanut butter
2/3 cup milk

Directions:

1. Add oats, nuts and protein powder to a food processor and combine.

2. Then add chia seeds, peanut butter, dates and maple syrup. Process until everything is thoroughly combined and mix in the milk.

3. Lay parchment paper in a sheet pan and press the mixture firmly down.

4. Let harden, then cut into whatever size bars you'd like. Enjoy!
