Eat Right

5 super foods you should be eating this winter

Finding fresh produce in the winter can be a challenge, but we've found some healthy foods supermarkets will be stocked up on all season long. Yummy foods like broccoli and carrots *never* go out of style (right?!). Peep our list and then try one of the delish recipes to incorporate these healthy foods into your diet this winter.

Broccoli and cauliflower

Both are super high in Vitamin C, which helps support a healthy immune system. Try this ridiculously easy broccoli quiche recipe.

Citrus

Fruits like lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit are full of Vitamin C and flavonoids, which boost good cholesterol and lower bad cholesterol. Spice up that old chicken dish with this citrus chicken recipe.

Pomegranate

These are *super* yummy (although a bit messy), and they're full of antioxidants, which can prevent disease. Check out these six easy pomegranate recipes

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is high in zinc and soluble fiber, so it makes a great energy sustaining meal. Have your oats in the morning with blueberries, sunflower seeds, and agave.

Beets, carrots and turnips

These vegetables have no problem growing in the cold, and they're rich in Vitamins C and A. Make these savory roasted root vegetables.
