Fact or fiction: Getting a trim makes your hair grow faster

We’re sure you’ve heard the myth that getting a trim will promote hair growth, but is it true?

Well, sorta. Cutting your hair won’t make it grow any faster, but it will make it look longer and thicker. By getting rid of damaged hair and split ends, your hair will look healthier. Hair breakage makes your hair look thinner so by getting a trim, your hair will look fuller..

Hair follicles are what determine growth, so you may be wondering: how do I get my hair to grow faster?! It may sound weird, but take care of your scalp. That’s where your hair follicles are, so you want to keep them healthy. Use conditioner, avoid over washing, use a hair mask to avoid breakage and— most importantlu—make sure you’re eating a healthy diet (hair hearts foods with Omega-3 Fatty Acids and protein).

Are you trying to grow your hair out, or are you ready to take the plunge and chop it all of? Let us know in the comments below!
