This caramel popcorn makes the *sweetest* gift

 

It’s so tough to come up with personal, thoughtful gifts for *everyone* you love in your life, especially for those certain family members or friends are impossible to shop for (we're looking at you, Dad!). Luckily, homemade treats are a pretty safe bet and if you love to bake, you might try whipping up this delish caramel popcorn as a gift. It’s easy, quick, and funjust make sure a parent or another adult is present when you’re boiling or baking to be safe.

Ingredients:

5 quarts popped popcorn 
1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
½ cup corn syrup or maple syrup (your choice)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cute baggies
Red ribbon

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.

2. Put the popcorn in a big bowl and set it asideyou’ll work with it later.

3. Put the butter, brown sugar and syrup in a saucepan, and then bring it to boil. Keep stirring to make sure it all melts together. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.

4. Turn off the heat, and add in the baking soda, vanilla extract and salt. 

5. Pour your glorious creation over the popcorn. Stir and toss the popcorn to make sure it coats every piece.

6. Place the popcorn over greased cookie sheets and bake in the preheated oven for one hour. Make sure to check and stir every 20 minutes.

7. Remove the popcorn from the oven and let it cool before breaking it into pieces.

8. Place your popcorn in little baggies and tie them up with red ribbons. Now, pass out your deliciously delightful gifts!
