Celebrate 7/11 the right way with this sweet slurpee recipe

GL girls, today is a *very* special day. Can you guess what it is? Free slurpee day, of course! When this sweet day rolls around every year, people head into 7-Eleven stores to get any slurpee of their choice, free of charge. According to NJ.com, 9 million slurpees will be given out today. What makes this July 11 even sweeter? This year is the 50th anniversary of 7-Eleven’s slurpee!

That being said, if you have no way of getting to a 7-Eleven of if you simply want to stay in the comfort of your own home, here’s how to make your very own delicious frozen drink to celebrate the sweet treat's big 5-0.

What you’ll need:

Any dry drink mix

½ cup of sugar

1 cup of water

12 large ice cubes

Blender

Directions:

1. Add the water, your choice of dry drink mix and sugar into the blender. You can use anything from Kool-Aid to Crystal Light, it’s up to you.

2. Blend the ingredients until the mixture is completely combined.

3. Add your ice cubes and blend again. Blend until it’s smooth (just like a 7-Eleven slurpee!).

4. Serve in a sweet sipper (like this) and enjoy.

What’s your favorite slurpee flavor? Tell us in the comments below, babes.
