MAKE IT CUTE

Parties

Hello, style star! Plan a Carrie Diaries premiere party

Pumped to watch our 2009 cover girl AnnaSophia Robb pull out all the style stops in The Carrie Diaries? This def calls for a fashion-forward party, and we’ve got some super cute ideas to make your event NYC-chic. Since the series kicks off on a school night—boo!—we vote for inviting your friends this weekend and hosting your party next weekend. Thank goodness for DVR and On Demand!

Personal invites

Handwrite each invite in your best cursive, addressing your besties with a “Dear ____,” just like a journal entry. Dot your i’s with hearts and they’ll totally fit in with the show’s title. Don’t forget to sign off with a movie-star signature!

Glitz it up

Add sparkle wherever possible. Dip the ends of candles in glue, and then roll in glitter. Add shimmery accents to the TV room with metallic throw pillows and shiny streamers.

Accessorized sips

Ask your ‘rents if you can drink sparkling cider or fruity punch fancy champagne glasses. Then add tiny beaded rings in different colors around each stem. Your BFFs won’t mix up their sips, and they’ll feel seriously chic.

Dress to impress

Even if the party’s just takin place in your living room, there’s no reason not to wear your fave outfit. Carrie never misses out on an opp to look glam, so encourage your besties to wear a cute party dress and a pair of heels.

Style Swap

Organize an outfit swap. Carrie Bradshaw lives for fashion, right? So now’s the perfect time to switch up your wardrobe. Have everyone bring a few pieces they don’t wear anymore to trade around. One girl’s forgotten frock is another girl’s must-have, right?

Big Apple Big

Make the party as big as possible without overwhelming the rents. The show’s filmed in Manhattan, after all! The Carrie Diaries is all about sisterhood, so let your friends bring their sisters for the show premiere, too. Be the hostess with the mostest and try not to leave anyone out.

Let us know how your Carrie party planning goes! Which idea are you most excited about?
