At this point in the game I am sure you girls know how I feel about Tyra. Her silly accents and her impromptu therapy sessions have GOT to go. Girl we got it, you're a fantastic model, now get over it. The girls start the episode with a photo shoot lead by Miss Banks herself. The premise was for each girl to work what their momma gave them and find their signature pose. I am positive that I wouldn’t be able to come up with something on the spot so I give the girls props for bustin' a move with no idea as to what they needed to be doing.
I am generally awkward but more in my mannerisms, not in the way I hold my body. If I had to come up with some sort of fierce stance, I guess I would try to work my face area, I’m kinda too short and squat to have killer legs. What body part would you girls emphasize?
Sam, if you want to work the hands I, support that. Same for you McKey. You wanna go with the model version of Austin Powers, go for it. But poor Lauren Brie...talk about lost in translation. I am still waiting for Sheena to shine, I still don’t KNOW her and I think the judges agreed. Marjorie won the prize (DIAMONDS WOOHOO). She does take awesome photographs but I just really don’t like her personality and I don’t think she will be able to perform her duties as a model and Cover Girl spokeswoman. What do you girls think about the "broken doll" poses that seem to be so popular? I know Tyra is all about not being pretty but at the same time, I feel like it’s just so uncomfortable. I guess you gotta work with what you got. PS can someone hook me up with one of those little black dresses? Oh My Jonas they were so cute.
Dramz was at an all time low in the house this week. Aside from Elina talking about her cold hard mother, all was quiet on the home front. Obviously this was a foreshadowing of things to come. DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN.
This show is in its eleventh season and I am STILL fascinated by the photo shoot ideas that are kicked around. They must have a KILLER creative team. I would have run out of ideas six seasons ago. This week the theme was award ceremonies. The girls had to act out different scenarios that definitely happen to women at these shows. The rundown is as follows:
Marjorie kicked bootay once again. I am a pee queen and anyone that can make going to the bathroom look glamorous deserves an A+ in my book. You go Marjorie.
Samantha was just awkward. I feel like she is always the one that is picked on every photo shoot and every challenge. The judges obviously think she has potential or else she would be gone. It’s fantastic that she still maintains a positive outlook. Elina, LET GO DARLING. Crying is therapeutic. I have a sobfest at least once a week. The therapy session with Jay was a little too much. Don’t you know that’s Tyra’s job?! Lauren Brie was just boring. I am over her. She’s a pretty face but that’s it. McKey was stunning and she is definitely my favorite. She doesn’t have a ‘tude which is refreshing and she takes great pictures without having to be prompted by Jay all of the time. It seems like modeling is effortless for her and that’s a breath of fresh air. Sheena and Joslyn failed to impress me. I wish they were a little more dynamic in general. Analeigh was gorgeous but I also feel like she has been kinda lucking out in the themes she gets assigned too. It isn’t difficult to look bored. What do you girls think? What other scenarios could they have used for the shoot? Can’t wait to see what happens next week!
XOXO,
Jana

You know what always bothered me growing up? The kids who got 95% on a test and would be upset because they didn't get a 100%. I secretly think they were complaining because they wanted a discreet way to brag about their grades. Being the mediocre student that I was, I could never feel bad for them, an A is an A. Far better than my B+. Marjorie is like those kids. She complains all the time about her performance and not doing well yet somehow she’s always one of the first names to be called. It's like, get a grip, we know you're pretty but stop fishing for compliments. Props to Samantha for telling her to stop the Debbie Downer business later in the show. I know it's hard to break habits when you've been raised a certain way, but don't use your lifestyle as an excuse for why you cant perform well, get some happy pills pronto.
This week’s competition was kind of strange. The girls were given "cataloguey" outfits and had to make them fit better by using random items found at a construction site. Finally! Proof that the pictures in clothes magazines are in fact not true to life. How many times have I ordered a seemingly cute, fitted dress only to find that it’s actually a tent? Ummmm, about a bazillion. Unfortunately I can't walk around with a paper clip attached to the back to make it snug. Mckey wins and I am happy for that. She's a nice, sweet girl that is likeable. Her prize is extra shots in the photo shoot. Clark, as stunning as she was last week, spends the entire episode being cocky and saying things like "It's lonely being at the top." Wowzers, really? Where is your humility Clark? What do you guys think? Is it better to be overly confident than lack confidence? Which do you think is easier to work on?
The girls return home to Tyra mail that asks the question "Are you a force of nature, a devastating beauty, or a total disaster?" Obviously there is going to be some sort of earthquake/flood/tornado theme going on. I am always impressed that Tyra can come up with new ideas for photo shoots. This being the eleventh season, you would think that they would have to start repeating some themes, but they haven't. You go Tyra. The girls get dressed up in killer mod dresses and are given different sets to use that make them look like giants as they act out certain disasters. What natural disaster would you want to be? I think I would want to be Forest Fire or Typhoon, something totally uncontrollable. It was a typical photo shoot, most of the girls do alright, nothing fantastic but nothing horrible. I wish Sheena would shine a little more, I think she is so pretty. Mckey's heat wave was AWESOME, she really interacted with the set. Samantha looked gorg with her tidal wave moves and I am glad she won. As for Clark...self-confidence is great, but cockiness isn't. She learns that the hard way when she gets the boot. It's a long fall from the top my friend.
XOXO,
JANA

The Pratt’s are still causing much of the drama on The Hills this week. Lauren is still dealing with Stephanie’s apparent betrayal and trust issues surrounding the whole Doug situation. Steph is looking SO guilty at their reunion outside of school after Lauren returns from Italy. And, Lauren is looking SO mad. No wonder. Steph is still planning on attending Doug’s BBQ. If she claims to have deleted his number and is so “over” him, why is she still going?
Meanwhile, the other Pratt sibling and his girl Heidi get a surprise visit from Heidi’s mom. Seems like the women in the Montag family are holding a mini-intervention to get their daughter away from scumbag Spencer. I can’t believe Heidi didn’t tell her mom that Spencer was living there. How awkward.
Stephanie is spinning major lies! She goes back out on another “non date” with Doug. So much for that “avoiding his calls” mantra. DVD nights mean they are getting together. Anyone disagree? Girlfriend’s shade factor is headed through the roof.
Spencer is so rude to Heidi’s mom and totally talks down to her. I can’t stand him. He’s so controlling and manipulative. Heidi’s mom has him pegged right. I’m still hopelessly crossing my fingers for a Speidi breakup and Lauren, Heidi and Audrina to be BFFs again. It’s so sad all of their friendships have hit rough spots, but I guess everyone has been through that.
Doug’s BBQ blowout turns out to be just that. Lauren’s behavior toward Steph is super icy and she sticks with gal pals Lo and Whitney. Whitney is showing Doug some serious sass and I love how Brody tells Steph exactly how it is.
Steph never seems to learn. She just keeps digging the hole deeper. Lies, lies, lies. I’m thinking all the Pratt sibs are really a little bit nuts. I wonder what their parents are like. On that note, it’s time for you gals to dish your deepest on this week’s episode!
Much Love,

This week’s episode has me somewhat perplexed. The question of the week is should we really feel sorry for Blair Waldorf? Her jealousy, envy and childish fight for the spotlight always gets her in trouble with mommy dearest. She's starting to come off as pathetic. I can understand her being a little bit green eyed over Serena. The girl can do no wrong, has flawless features and the most to-die-for hair I’ve ever seen. But, a little overboard much? She nearly ruins her mom’s fashion show in order to satisfy her need for revenge. I want to hear your opinions girls! I’m team Serena on this one. She should be able to be herself without worrying about her BFF trying to knock her down the social ladder because of it.
The Humphrey siblings are caught up in their own drama as well. Dan seems to be moving on in life post Serena by burying himself in work. However, he gets burned again by one of the social elite. Who does Dan let into his personal life? None other than Chuck Bass. It wasn’t even an evil ploy by Chuck, Dan invited himself along! All for the sake of a prospective Pulitzer Prize winning career. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it to mess with that guy, but that’s just me. I do applaud him for taking a walk on the wild side, even if it did land him in jail. He better steer clear of Chuck for, oh, the rest of his life. He didn’t seem to happy when he found out Dan was digging for deets about his personal life to base his story around.
Jenny’s dad is ready to call out the guards on his darling daughter. Turns out truancy is the name of her game. Girl has been blowing off school to become a full-fledged fashion designer. She definitely rocked it and is moving up as a fast favorite of Eleanor. Not even Blair’s scheming could diminish her effort and ingenuity. Way to go girl. However, I have to disagree with her decision to drop out of school. That was not the smartest thing to do, to say the least. I hope her pops Rufus makes sure his daughter is on the right path!
Gossip Girl closes this week with a cryptic message, “Waiting for a star to fall.” Oh Serena. Better be careful! Sooner or later Blair is gonna have a major meltdown and come after her in a full on attack. Will these two ever just be friends again? Tune in next week!
Much Love,
Drea
