5 reasons to celebrate the Pretty Little Liars series

It has been one emosh week for the cast of Pretty Little Liars—they have officially wrapped filming on the very last episode of the show, meaning that they are done with PLL forever. *cute the sobs*

When things end, though, it's always nice to reflect on the journey we've been on. And for many of us, our journey with PLL began with the enthralling book series by Sara Shepard.

The cast celebrated the end of the show by getting tattoos, but we are going to do something slightly less drastic to celebrate the books. Below, check these five reasons why we *love* the PLL book series.

They're what first allowed us to connect with Hannah, Emily, Spencer and Aria.

Be honest: Your life would be *way* different if we weren't let into the lives of the fab four—and Alison!

There's so. many. books.

The series contains 16 books (16!) and three companion books—talk about amazing!

They're the perfect anytime read

At breakfast, waiting for the school bus, in front of the fire or in a nice relaxing bath—the best place to read PLL has always been (and always will be) *anywhere*!

They make for a gorgeous #shelfie

A book needs to be two things: Well written and beautifully designed. PLL has always ticked the boxes on both of those fronts.

It's created a generation of fervent book lovers

The first novel, Pretty Little Liars, was released on Oct. 3, 2006, and the last novel, Vicious, was released on Dec. 2, 2014. That's eight wonderful years of novels, and so many chances to fall in love with reading.

What is your favorite book in the Pretty Little Liars series? Do you like the book or show better?
